WEEK TWO
The Unicorn and the Yeti - Story idea
The story was about a lonely Yeti, who meets a unicorn, and he instantly relates to her, because she is also a mythical/legendary creature, and doesn't quite 'belong'. She's kind to him, and this makes him feel loved. The void in his life has been filled by the joy of someone paying him attention... So much so that when she shows affection to the other animals, or forest life, the Yeti becomes furiously jealous. He feels like she betrayed him into believing he could be loved, but of course the unicorn can't love. This doesn't mean she doesn't care, it's just not the way she can live her life.
But he craves her presence to the extent that he tricks her into a trap, and holds her hostage, so that he can have her all to himself. The forest begins to die because of the absence of the unicorn, and she too begins to wilt, and slowly looses her immortality... In the end, it's a story about learning to let go. Learning that sometimes, things don't work out the way YOU want them to. The need to respect other's individual lives, and their needs. But also, that just because you can't be with someone romantically, doesn't mean you can't still be friends, and appreciate/respect eachother.
I am both the Unicorn and the Yeti. I guess the story reflects my juxtaposed ways of dealing with situations.

08/10/13: Teapot Modelling Lesson- Outcome
So, today we learned how to keep a low poly model as reference, whilst also working on the complete, smooth shaded and mirrored model. This enables the modeller to have more control, and see the immediate effects of their actions or alterations.
Character wise, I tried to make my teapot look like a pyramid with a top hat, loosely inspired by the design of Bill from Gravity Falls:
