Week Three
Character Modelling Practice - Maya
I began to follow a tutorial on Digital tutors, advertised as a 'Free Tutorial'...what I didn't realise was that it required a subscription to watch any videos, after the 3rd. Which was really frustrating! I was really getting into the work flow!
Modelling Caleb - True Tail
I tried to apply the techniques illustrated by the tutorial, to help model Caleb, from True Tail. Unfortunately, the tutorials didn't get me too far, as you can see.
I did learn, however, that it's always better to use a rounded cube, than a sphere to make an oval shape. the topology of a perfect sphere can be very difficult to work with in the long run.

Zbrush Practice - Caleb (improv.)
I started practising my sculpting skills by attempting to take Caleb into zbrush instead. I then decided to go 'off-model' to achieve a more detailed character. I created the base of this model by using Zspheres to make a rough skeleton.
